The Westlake Recreation Center opened its' doors in November 1998 and provides a variety of amenities and activities to all Westlake Residents or employees of Westlake businesses.  In 2005, the center underwent an expansion and addition project.  The center is now home to a 13,500 sq. ft. fitness area, 2 high school sized regulation basketball courts, indoor track, new Spinning® Studio, 2 multi-purpose aerobics rooms, and an aquatics center that houses 5 pools including a lap pool, diving well, child's play pool with a water shooting frog and palm tree showers, lazy river and slides.  In addition, the recreation center has 2 large community rooms for parties or seminars, a conference room which holds up to 15 people for small meetings and a new classroom that holds up to 30 people.  You will also find an Arts & Crafts room, the Tot Room which is used for babysitting services at the center and a larger front desk to accommodate more services.  The Recreation Center is situated on 86 acres of land consisting of the recreation complex, outdoor track, 2 baseball/ softball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, gazebo, playground, picnic area, a fishing pond and lots of open spaces.
